Reading Tip: Simple, rhyming and repetitive text! Tell your child(ren) that you need help reading this book: Show them the word “Dinnertime” through out the book; every time that you point to “Dinnertime” everyone hollers, “Dinnertime. ” Practice to make sure they understand.
Ask: Why was the fox chasing the rabbits? Did the fox get the rabbits? Where do the rabbits go?

Reading Tip: Read the book one time and then the next time you read it, point to the phrase, “but the bear snores on.” While reading the book the children say: “But the bear snores on!” Ask: Who is sleeping at the beginning of the story? Who is sleeping end of the story? Why was the bear sleeping? How long will he sleep?

| Reading Tip: Make a sign to hold up throughout the story that says, “No”. Show the children the sign before reading the story and tell them that every time you hold up the sign, they have to shout, “No!” Practice it first w/ them; it’s fun!

Reading Tip: If reading one on one or a small group, read the story through then read it again and count the chicks in English and Spanish!
Afterward: Keep the book out for further investigation. Have buckle, or tie shoes, sticks, open & close items for play time. Encourage counting activities. Child can repeat rhyme and do counting activities!

Reading Tip: Read this book with real emphasis on “Big Bad Wolf” …like he really is a BIG BAD WOLF. Kids will delight that he is really just a sweet daddy wolf with kids of his own.
Ask: Was the really so bad? What are some of the things the wolf really did?

Ask: What was Goldilocks doing inside the Bear’s house? Who was at home? Where did the bears go? Do you think Goldilocks will be back.

Ask: How do you clean up? Where do your toys go? Where do your clothes go? What happens Max’s Popsicle? How would you clean your room?

Reading Tip: For group: Practice to become very comfortable with weaving the spider in and out throughout the book. Kids get very excited when see “Silly Spider” Use exaggerated expression… when he’s climbing on your tooth brush, “re-act!” Your child will love to manipulate the spider throughout the book.
